The Best Hard Wax

Why is Mermaid Wax the best hard wax? First, let’s discuss hard wax and why we use it, then we’ll discuss what makes one the best. HK Wax Center – Austin Arbor strives to be the best waxing salon in Austin. This means we need to use the highest quality wax so the hair removal process is quick and efficient. So, we went on a journey to find the best hard wax for our clients!

Why We Use Hard Wax

There are two main types of wax that companies will use for hair removal: hard wax or soft wax. Most companies will use soft wax because less is used for each service. Soft wax also costs less than hard wax. This type of wax will adhere to the skin instead of the hair. A strip is placed on top of the wax and then pulled off quickly. Soft wax has a higher chance of lifting the skin which causes scabbing. Hard wax will adhere to the hair, not the skin. This means you can go over an area more than once without damaging the skin. There is also no strip required to pull the wax off. The wax will harden on its own and then can be pulled off once dry. We prefer hard wax since it is safer for the skin and tends to not hurt as much. Hard wax is especially great for coarse hair, for example brazilian waxing, bikini waxing and underarm waxing.

Mermaid Wax is High Quality Hard Wax

The Best Hard Wax

After trying multiple different brands of hard wax, we finally found a few top brands! These brands use the latest and greatest technology to find the perfect formula of wax. They can be applied at a low temperature, while still remaining flexible during application. The top brand hands down is Mermaid Wax. Their Signature Series Hard Wax (both Sirena & Electra) are unlike anything else on the market. We won’t use any other brand and highly recommend you give them a try. This brand can work for either coarse hair or fine hair. It will suction cup the hair and pull it directly from the root, leaving you with silky, smooth skin! Premium hard wax doesn’t break off like some cheaper waxes do. If applied correctly, it always comes off in one swift strip. We truly believe there isn’t a better wax on the market today.

Discussion (2)

  1. Why hard wax is not sticking to skin and soft wax does. Is it because of their ingredients or temperature? Have you heard of any soft wax that doesn’t stick to the skin the same way as hard wax doesn’t stick?

    • Your theory is exactly right, they act differently due to their ingredients. And no there is no such thing as a soft wax that acts like a hard wax. Thank you for the question!
